A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL EDWARD OWUSU

Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,

What a great time that was had by all at the Junior & Senior Prom and After Prom. Much appreciation to Dr. Early and the Junior Class Prom Planning Committee and staff, as well as the PTSA After Prom Committee led by our fabulous PTSA president Mrs. Syahmalina. We also began to wind up regular season athletic play this week and will move into playoff season. Boys Volleyball will play Tuesday. Good luck to all teams.

This is a four day school week as Monday (No school for students) is part of a districtwide day devoted to wellness, students are encouraged to participate in one of many out-of-school time opportunities that focus on physical, mental and emotional well-being. Activities include fitness, yoga, dance, art and music. Virtual and in-person opportunities are available. For more information, visit this webpage. Classes will resume on Tuesday.

Senior Mid Quarter Interim Progress Reports will be processed this week. Please check grades in Student and Parent Vue.

Advanced Placement (AP) Testing begins Tuesday, May 3rd and continues through Friday, May 20th. If you have not done so, please take a moment to read the following letter that was previously sent to all AP families. The letter includes test dates and times, what to bring/what not to bring to the exam, and other FAQ.

Please direct all questions AP related to Amber Parks at Amber_M_Parks@mcpsmd.org

It is important to note that if you are testing in the morning, you must report to the testing room NO LATER THAN 7: 30 AM; if you are testing in the afternoon you must report to the testing site NO LATER THAN 11: 45 AM. If students do not arrive on time and directions have begun, they will forfeit their exam and there is no guarantee they will be permitted late testing at another date.

Additionally, you are excused from school for the entire day on which you take an AP exam whether you test in the morning or afternoon. HOWEVER, students testing in the afternoon must remember that testing WILL GO BEYOND THE SCHOOL DAY and no one is allowed to leave the testing room for any reason (sports, work, etc.) until time has been called.

Please note that you are responsible for your own transportation to and from school on the days of your exams.

Upon entry, you will receive your AP ID Labels and answer sheet. You will then be instructed on where to sit in the testing room.

Please arrive on time so that everyone can get checked in and seated and we can begin the exam promptly.

Have you registered for Summer School? Please see the attached letter to the Clarksburg High School community, for details about FREE, local options for summer courses and programs at CHS, as well as information about MCPS regional summer school.
