Principal's Weekly Message

CHS Seal

Good morning Clarksburg High School Families:

What a great Homecoming Week!! We hope students, staff, and the Clarksburg community enjoyed a spirit filled week. Special thanks to our SGA leadership, Class Council students and sponsors, Building Services, and parent volunteers. Let's keep that good feeling going!

This week all 12th grade students should plan to attend their Senior Meeting and Senior Panoramic Class Photo on the morning of Tuesday, October 26 beginning at 8:00 am in the auditorium. The meeting will last for 60 minThe meeting and photo are important as graduation information, cap, gown, and tassel information will be provided. Plus the Senior Panoramic photo will be taken. Their will not be a makeup session for this date.

We are closing in on the end of the Marking Period. November 3 will end the first quarter and marking period and grades will be processed the following day by teachers. Students should ensure all work is completed and turned into staff.

Do you or someone you know need holiday assistance? The Holiday Giving Project can help. This resource is available for our full Clarksburg Community. Please see the information and link within our newsletter.

Beginning in the 2019-20 school year, the AP® Program introduced new resources and processes designed to help students earn college credit and placement. Students are now required to register for AP Exams in the fall. The exams will still take place in May. Please see the information contained in our newsletter and plan to register and make payment before the November deadline.

Seniors needing to makeup senior photos will have another opportunity this week. Registration is required. (Seniors students may click this link HERE.)

As a reminder I continue to highlight that students are continuing to arrive late to classes. This is occurring throughout the school day. It is critical that students are on time to class. This week and moving forward our school staff will take additional steps to ensure students are not lingering in halls, and that they make it to class on time. This will include additional staff in hallways, hall sweeps, and calls to parents and guardians for students that are repeatedly late to class. In some instances, after school detention will be issued. We appreciate everyone's efforts to end this bad habit.

In this newsletter you will find information about Registration for Winter Sports, Advanced Placement Exams (Click Button), Clothing Recycling, Holiday Giving Project, college and university visits to CHS, and more.
