Principal's Weekly Message
Good morning Clarksburg High School Families:
Welcome to Homecoming Week 2021!!! It's been a highly anticipated week and we are thrilled for Homecoming to finally be here! This is a safe celebration on many fronts, welcoming back our alumni, celebrating our return to all things C'Burg, and ensuring that our school spirit shines in all we do!
One item I do need to highlight is in regards to students that are continuing to arrive late to classes. This is occurring throughout the school day. Since we are at the midpoint of October and the first marking period, it is critical that students are on time to class. This week and moving forward our school staff will take additional steps to ensure students are not lingering in halls and make it to class on time. This will include additional staff in hallways, hall sweeps, and calls to parents and guardians for students that are repeatedly late to class. In some instances, after school detention will be issued. We appreciate everyone's efforts to end this bad habit.
Homecoming hallway decorating began this Sunday morning, and spirit week themes for the week, in order of day are Pajama Day, Jersey and Sports Day, Wacky-Tacky Day, Costume Day, and Battle of the Classes. In a addition a fantastic Powder Puff Football Game is planned during our Pep Rally on Friday. The Homecoming Dance will be spectacular! Dancing will occur outdoors under heated, lighted, and tented facilities. There will be games and activities for all. Please see the information contained in the newsletter.
This week Make-up testing for seniors that missed MCAP assessments will occur on Tuesday. This is a graduation requirement for seniors so we want to ensure they don't miss this opportunity.

Grade 9-11 picture retakes will occur on Tuesday, October 19. Students needing to retake their picture and receive an ID should request permission from their teacher to go to room 175 (Wrestling Room) to retake their photo. Photos will also be taken during lunch. Picture retakes will occur from 7:45 am - 2:00 pm
That evening, at 7 pm on Tuesday will the PTSA will meet in the cafeteria for its first meeting of the year. Members may attend in person or via Zoom Please see the information contained in this newsletter.
Looking ahead seniors may plan for their Senior Meeting and Senior Panoramic Class Photo on the morning of Tuesday, October 26 beginning at 8:00 am .
