The Clark School's philosophy is turning fearless ideas into innovations for public good: engineering that innovates for families and communities and that finds ways to make life safer, smarter, and easier. The COVID-19 crisis gives our students an opportunity to put that philosophy to work. We turned research labs into sanitizer production plants and 3D printers into PPE producers. Our Maryland Transportation Institute turned anonymous cell phone data into an interactive tool for public officials, enabling them to understand a community’s movement—and the movement of COVID-19.
