Early Child Development

The Seneca Valley High School Early Child Development Program is dedicated to providing young children from all backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures with the basic skills to be successful in kindergarten.

High school student teachers work on a daily basis to plan and prepare developmentally appropriate lessons which they teach in the preschool classroom.  A high school teacher provides oversight and supervision of all preschool activities, lessons and events.

The preschoolers enjoy interacting with their classmates and student teachers during activities, lessons and events.  Understanding that every child is special and unique, the program also provides individual attention by pairing each child with a student teacher who works with the child at least once a week on specifically designed language arts and math activities.
