Financial Aid Information & Resources:

COVID-19 update:  Visit the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) website and the websites for the colleges you are applying to for financial aid updates and deadline extensions as a result of COVID-19.

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (The FAFSA).  Access the FAFSA application and obtain information on each step needed to complete the process from the studentaid.gov web site.
  • The Maryland Higher Education Commission website has information on Maryland aid (including accepting aid with the MD CAPS account), information on the Pell GrantGuaranteed Access Grantstate scholarships, and the Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship Program.

It’s Going to Be A Busy Year, Juniors & Seniors!

 

College visits this year will be held virtually. We want to make sure you don’t miss out. Students can access the college virtual visits in their Naviance Student Account. Check back often as colleges are continually added.

To access Virtual College Visits:

· Log into your Student Naviance account

· Click on “Colleges” tab in upper top right corner

· Click on “Colleges” HOME

· Scroll down to the bottom of the screen where you will see “College Visits”. You may click on the visit you’re interested in or click the “SHOW MORE” link to view additional visits.

· You MUST select “Register Now” for those you would like to attend – to save your spot

· The virtual visit event link will be available 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

College Virtual Visits

The Get Ready, Get Set Workforce Readiness Conference for High School Students, co-sponsored by Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College, and WorkSource Montgomery, has been scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2021. The event will take place virtually from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Although the event is focused on high school seniors who are considering and/or planning to enter a trades program or workforce upon graduation, this event also provides opportunities for sophomores and juniors who are either applying to- or currently enrolled in a career pathway program to attend the conference. Parent/guardians are welcome to attend as well.

Registration is open April 26th through May 10th.   Students (grades 10-12) and parents need to register via Eventbrite   Seats are limited. Spanish interpretation will be available. Those unable to get a seat will be able to attend by watching via MCPS TV on YouTube.

Montgomery College's help with filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

The Office of Student Financial Aid at Montgomery College invites you to sign up for VIRTUAL FAFSA DAYS – a free session to help current and prospective college students and their families.

Please sign up to get assistance completing the FAFSA. The remote sessions are available every: Monday from 1 - 4 pm & Tuesday from 4 - 7 pm
