Hello Cougar Family! I am thrilled to continue our journey as your Proud Principal of the Cougar Family! It is my absolute honor to serve you in this capacity. Before we embark on this new chapter, allow me to share my vision and goals for our school: (1) As your principal, I am committed to serving our students and community, always looking out for their best interest, (2) I will focus our efforts on creating a conducive learning environment that nurtures the academic, behavioral, and social emotional growth of all students, (3) I will operate with integrity at the forefront of all of my decision-making processes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Having previously served as your assistant principal since July 2017, my journey in Montgomery County Public Schools for the past 23 years has been a rewarding one. Over the years, I have been a dedicated SSES Teacher at Damascus High School, Resource Teacher for Special Education (RTSE) in the SSES Department at Briggs Chaney Middle School, Assistant Principal at Cresthaven Elementary School, Special Education Teacher (Learning Center, Home School Model Resource) at Galway Elementary School, Resource Teacher for Special Education at A. Mario Loiederman Middle School, and Acting Principal at Rock Terrace School (October 2021-March 2023). These experiences have shaped my belief in data-based decisions and the power of collaboration with all stakeholders to create the best possible outcomes for our students and staff.
I am an instructional leader who is committed to each student’s success, and my ultimate goal is to prepare them for future careers by the time they leave us at age 21. Together, we will foster a nurturing and academically enriched environment that allows every student to thrive. Therefore, it will be a priority to collaborate with all stakeholders to form productive partnerships for our school and ensure that our students receive the best education that will make them career ready.
On a personal note, I am a family person and enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. In my free time, I also indulge in trips to the spa, watching movies, trying different foods, and, most importantly, rejuvenating my spirits in the Caribbean.
I am genuinely excited about the great things we will achieve together at Rock Terrace School on behalf of our students Cougar Pride!
