MCPS COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES
MCPS to Host Mental Health Forum
MCPS will host a mental health forum for students and families on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Your Story Matters will focus on the topic and its impact on African American, Asian and Hispanic communities. The event will include panel discussions and workshops. The event will be held in person from 6–8:30 p.m. at Richard Montgomery High School. Doors open at 6 p.m. RSVP
FUTURE RMS/MCPS CALENDAR REMINDERS
There will only be 2 after school activity buses running on Tuesday, December 6th and Thursday, December 8th.
Wednesday, December 7th is an early release day for students.
Dismissal is at 12:30 p.m. Please plan accordingly.
Thursday, December 8th we will have a therapy dog visiting staff and students during lunch. Students will be able to receive a pass during lunch to visit the dog for a few minutes. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Monica Kellner.
The RMS PTSA Meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the media center. More information to follow.

RMS Winter concert will be held Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. Please join us for an amazing evening as our students showcase their talents.
Winter break will be Friday, December 23rd to Monday, January 2nd. Enjoy the break and we’ll see you all in the New Year on Tuesday, January 3rd.

The Holiday Giving Project is now open for applications for the holidays in November and December. If you need assistance with Thanksgiving or the December holidays, please reach out to your child’s grade level counselor. For 8th grade that would be Mrs. Graham. For 7th grade that would be Mrs. Markowitz and Mrs. Porter, and for 6th grade that would be Mrs. McLoughlin. The deadline for applications for assistance for November is October 26, 2022. The deadline for applications for assistance for December is November 16th.
