Regional and Local High School Information for 8th Grade Families and OPEN HOUSE DATES

MCPS will be holding a MCPS broadcast this evening (7pm) 9/21/22, which will be available as a recording for parents to view. This broadcast will provide important information for regional and local high school programs. High School Open House dates are also approaching.

Student Government Association Interest Meeting

Are you a leader? Want to be a voice of the student body? The Student Government Association wants you as a member! The SGA will hold an interest meeting after school on Wednesday, September 28th from 3:00-4:15pm in Room 206.


Applications for Excel Beyond the Bell (EBB), an after-school program at Argyle Middle School are now available in the main office and linked below: Students in EBB get expanded access to after-school. Students can power up with an after-school meal before heading off to an activity of their choice. You might come for the extracurricular activities, but you’ll probably stay for the people you meet. Space is limited, register today!

Carpool 22 - 23

Argyle Magnet Middle School families are invited to add their home information to our carpool database for the 2022-23 school year. The information provided will be shared via e-mailed with all participating members. Once you receive the database, please contact Argyle families and parents in your local area to coordinate a carpool schedule. The school does not coordinate carpool arrangements but does provide the database service to caregivers at Argyle. If you are interested in joining our carpool database, please share your information here.

6th Grade Orientation

Registration for the "6th Grade Virtual Summer Orientation" is now OPEN.  Get ready to explore a Day in the Life of a 6th Grader! You’ll hear about ACE Day, Outdoor Ed, After School Clubs, Intramural Sports, and more!   To register, complete the "6th Grade Virtual Summer Orientation" Form and we hope to see you soon!

Asian American/Pacific Island American Poster Contest Extended to May 31st

Hey Argyle, the DEADLINE for the Asian American/Pacific Island American Poster contest has been extended to Tuesday, May 31st. Physical poster entries are to be turned in to Mr. Grenier and electronic submissions can be turned in by scanning the QR code. Prizes given to the BEST top 3 entries.

Hey 6th and 7th grade students, on Wednesday, June 1st, during Advisory, YOU will have the opportunity to VOTE for your PEERS, to represent your views & interest in SGA for next school year. Magnet Showcase - Thursday, May 26th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us Thursday, May 26th for our annual Magnet Showcase Event! We are excited to show off all the amazing work our students have done throughout the year. 8th grade capstone products are the focus as well as 6th & 7th grade tech products. 8th graders will also be presenting their Capstone Projects through presentations in the “Shark Tank.” We are also seeking volunteers to serve as “Shark Tank” panelists during the showcase. Spring Play Next Week!

Come enjoy our spring musical! The Grunch! There will be three dates. May 19th at 5 pm and May 20th at 6 pm and May 21st at 12 pm.


MCPS has contracted with two external tutoring companies to provide direct tutoring services to students. This will ensure a robust tutoring program in all schools so that every student in need of support is able to receive it through various modalities and resources.

For students in need of ongoing high dosage tutoring aligned to the curriculum, please refer students to Tutor Me Education or FEV Tutor using the resources in the Tutoring Resources folder.
