Parent Info Meeting for Registration at 6pm Monday 1/9/23

Hello 6th grade and 7th grade Argyle Families, We will be hosting a Parent Info Night for course registration. This meeting is only for 6th grade and 7th grade families. This week, students have been learning about academic advising, and learning about courses for next year. At the meeting, we will be supporting parents with our course registration website, and how they can sign up for classes. Students have had the opportunity to learn about the magnet pathway, discuss with classmates on different course videos, and use a capture sheet to take notes and rank their favorite classes. If you are unable to make the meeting, we will have a recorded version you can watch!

Winter Dance

Students, the SGA will be ringing in the new year by hosting a Winter Dance on Friday, January 13th. Get your dance moves and shoes ready for what will be a good time. Tickets will cost 55 PBIS points. The fun will start right after school in the Gym and end at 5pm so be sure to have a ride home when the party ends. Also, don't forget to bring some pocket change as the SGA will be holding a BAKE SALE.

January SGA Meetings

The SGA invites all students to attend our January 11th and January 25th, after school in room 206. Students, you want to make things happen at Argyle? Then be sure to attend a SGA meeting so your voices and ideas can be heard.

Argyle Spirit Week

Argyle Spirit Week will be Monday, December 19 through Thursday, December 22. Monday is Pajama Day. Tuesday is Winter Wonderland (Wear all white!). Wednesday is Ugly Sweater Day. On Thursday, wear any festive winter wear.

SGA Meeting

The SGA invites all students to attend our December 14th meeting after school in room 206. Students, want to make things happen at Argyle? Then be sure to attend a SGA meeting and help us organize and plan out events for the Argyle community.

Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education provides opportunities for students to engage in authentic, interdisciplinary learning experiences outside the four walls of a classroom. Follow this link for more information about upcoming Outdoor Education opportunities.

Argyle Athletics Winter Basketball

Our Winter Athletic Season is fast approaching! Here are some important dates and information if your student is interested in playing basketball this year: Registration will be available in ParentVue from October 31, 2022 - December 5, 2022. There will be an interest meeting for any interested students and families on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Argyle Gym. (Zoom link and recording will also be made available.) The SGA invites ALL students to attend our October 12th and October 26th meetings, after school in room 206. Students, you want to make things happen at Argyle? Then be sure to attend an SGA meeting so your voices and ideas can be heard.

Magnet Open House

Current 5th graders, are you interested in learning about digital design and technology? Argyle Middle School will host an open house on Wednesday, October 12 from 6:00-8:00 for current 5th graders considering applying to our school for the 2023-2024 school year. This event will showcase our technology pathways and offer students and families an opportunity to see our school in person. MCPS has contracted with two external tutoring companies to provide direct tutoring services to students. This will ensure a robust tutoring program in all schools so that every student in need of support is able to receive it through various modalities and resources.

For students in need of ongoing high dosage tutoring aligned to the curriculum, please refer students to Tutor Me Education or FEV Tutor using the resources in the Tutoring Resources folder.
