Argyle Athletics Winter Basketball

Our Winter Athletic Season is fast approaching! Here are some important dates and information if your student is interested in playing basketball this year: Registration will be available in ParentVue from October 31, 2022 - December 5, 2022. There will be an interest meeting for any interested students and families on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Argyle Gym. (Zoom link and recording will also be made available.) Upcoming SGA Meetings

The SGA invites ALL students to attend our October 12th and October 26th meetings, after school in room 206. Students, you want to make things happen at Argyle? Then be sure to attend an SGA meeting so your voices and ideas can be heard.

Magnet Open House

Current 5th graders, are you interested in learning about digital design and technology? Argyle Middle School will host an open house on Wednesday, October 12 from 6:00-8:00 for current 5th graders considering applying to our school for the 2023-2024 school year. This event will showcase our technology pathways and offer students and families an opportunity to see our school in person. The 2022 Holiday Giving Project

The Holiday Giving Project has provided Thanksgiving and December holiday assistance to qualifying households for over 30 years. If you and your family are in need and would like to be referred for possible assistance for the holiday season, please complete this referral form to provide the required information. Resources are limited. Please apply only if you and your family are truly in need. While a referral is not a guarantee of assistance, the Project helps as many families in need as donations allow.

Regional and Local High School Information for 8th Grade Families and OPEN HOUSE DATES

MCPS will be holding a MCPS broadcast this evening (7pm) 9/21/22, which will be available as a recording for parents to view. This broadcast will provide important information for regional and local high school programs. High School Open House dates are also approaching.

Student Government Association Interest Meeting

Are you a leader? Want to be a voice of the student body? The Student Government Association wants you as a member! The SGA will hold an interest meeting after school on Wednesday, September 28th from 3:00-4:15pm in Room 206.

EXCEL BEYOND THE BELL - STARTING SEPTEMBER 27TH - DECEMBER 15TH

Applications for Excel Beyond the Bell (EBB), an after-school program at Argyle Middle School are now available in the main office and linked below: Students in EBB get expanded access to after-school. Students can power up with an after-school meal before heading off to an activity of their choice. You might come for the extracurricular activities, but you’ll probably stay for the people you meet. Space is limited, register today!

Carpool 22 - 23

Argyle Magnet Middle School families are invited to add their home information to our carpool database for the 2022-23 school year. The information provided will be shared via e-mailed with all participating members. Once you receive the database, please contact Argyle families and parents in your local area to coordinate a carpool schedule. The school does not coordinate carpool arrangements but does provide the database service to caregivers at Argyle. If you are interested in joining our carpool database, please share your information here.

TUTORING WITH EXTERNAL TUTORING PROVIDERS

MCPS has contracted with two external tutoring companies to provide direct tutoring services to students. This will ensure a robust tutoring program in all schools so that every student in need of support is able to receive it through various modalities and resources.

For students in need of ongoing high dosage tutoring aligned to the curriculum, please refer students to Tutor Me Education or FEV Tutor using the resources in the Tutoring Resources folder.
