2019 - 2020 Redland Middle School Administration

Redland Administration

Mr. Matthew Niper

Matthew Niper I am proud to be the Acting Principal at Redland Middle School and privileged to serve as an administrator in Montgomery County Public Schools. I have been working in the field of education since 2003 and I have served as a science teacher, assistant principal, principal intern and acting principal.  As the Acting Principal at Redland Middle School, I will work with our administrative team, leadership team and staff to continue the work of raising the level of achievement for all students. I strongly believe that through positive relationship building and a belief in each student as an individual, every student can be successful and accomplish their set goals.

I am also the proud parent of three energetic boys and my wonderful wife and I spend much of our extra time with them and our two dogs.  My family have frequently be seen enjoying a sporting event, play or concert at Redland.  They are excited to be a part of our Bulldog Family.

As an educational leader my core values center around motivation, dedication, respect and creative vision. These values play a key role in decision making and goal setting. I continuously strive to motivate and mentor our students and staff, developing strategies to support the school improvement plan and therefore increasing the overall student performance. I am dedicated to a strong and well-rounded student and I look forward to working with your students to develop this. In addition, respect is important to a student and their success. I continuously stress the importance of being respectful and how it makes stronger individuals throughout life. Your students will encounter an environment at Redland Middle School that is supportive, challenging, engaging and innovative.  I look forward to supporting all students, staff and parents, implementing our mission and vision and continuing the strong community relationships, outstanding instructional programs, and highly effective collaboration Redland is known for.

Mrs. Angie Fish

Angie Fish I am beyond thrilled to join the Bulldog family! I have been working in the field of education since 1995 and have had the privilege of serving as an English teacher at both the middle and high school levels, an assistant principal, and a central office administrator. As far back as I can remember, my parents stressed the importance of education as a way to make a difference in my life and the lives of others, and it is that very reason I became an educator. My goal is to inspire and empower all students by providing the tools necessary for them to pursue their dreams and become compassionate and contributing members of society. Tony Wagner, in his latest book, Creating Innovators, shares, “Passion and purpose are what give hope, a clear focus, and a reason to acquire the skills and the knowledge necessary to succeed.” When people feel empowered, it strikes a passion - a passion for meaningful and impactful change that leads to ultimate success.

I am also fortunate to be married to my wonderful husband of 25 years. We are the proud parents of  four amazing daughters and a wonderful son-in-law. We love spending time together, laughing and just enjoying life with our three dogs and our cat.

I look forward to serving the students, staff, and community of Redland Middle School as one of your assistant principals.  I am dedicated to building strong, supportive, and collaborative relationships with students,  staff, and the community to provide students with an exceptional and fulfilling educational experience as they seek out their passions, pursue their dreams, and become empowered members of their community.

Dr. Shasha Lowe

sashaI am excited to begin my 17th year in education as an administrator at Redland Middle School!  I have served as an English teacher, Literacy Coach, Content Specialist, and Staff Development Specialist in MCPS.  I began my career in Prince George's County, MD where I became Nationally Board Certified in English Language Arts.

I am originally from Jamaica, and I often visit family there.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and reading for pleasure.  Growing up I was taught that education is the great equalizer, and this belief fueled my passion for education.

My ultimate goal as an educational leader is to lead for equity in order to ensure that all students reach their full potential.  I am an advocate for creating spaces in which all students have the opportunities and support they need to thrive. I also believe in promoting student voice, choice, and advocacy to empower students as creative thinkers, problem solvers, and collaborators.  I look forward to working with families, students, staff, and the Redland community in order to advance student learning.
