Media Center - Online Resources

Students have access to several online services at school and at home. These services provide students with a wealth of information that can be used to complete projects and homework assignments and to conduct research. Passwords can be found on the Media Center google classroom page and on Edline.net. Students will need to login to one of those sites to access the passwords/ sites from home.

	Britannica School is an encyclopedia where you can search for articles on a variety of topics.
	Image Quest has a collection of images that you can download and use in your school projects.
	Annals of American History has primary source speeches, historical accounts, memoirs, poems, images and multimedia on American History.
	Escolar Online is the Britannica School encyclopedia in Spanish. Find articles on a variety of topics written in Spanish..
	Enciclopedia Moderna is a Spanish language encyclopedia that has many articles plus timelines, an atlas, and a dictionary.
	Global Reference Center is a database where you can find information from around the globe written in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, French and Spanish.
	World Data Analyst is a database in which you can create "current comparisons" of countries based on a large list of data points, including "chronological comparisons," which compares changes over time.
	In classrooms, on mobile devices, and at home, BrainPOP engages students through animated movies, learning games, interactive quizzes, primary source activities, concept mapping, and more.
	Culturegrams has information on 182 countries and cultures, including history, land and climate, religion, personal appearance, gestures, language, government, and family life.
	Use Noodletools to create citations, notecards, outlines and papers for your research projects.
	SIRS Decades is a database of primary and secondary source documents organized around the decades of the 20th century.
	SIRS Discoverer is a database of articles and images from newspapers, magazines, government documents, and websites.
	SIRS Knowledge Source has several databases to help middle and high school students with research on current issues, government topics, arts and history.

	Factcite includes articles of people, places and events that shape our society and world around us. Included in FactCite are the following databases: American History, Countries and Cultures, Defining Moments in US History, Shapers of Society, Sports Champions, and World Biography.
	History Reference Center (EBSCO) includes reference books, encyclopedias, historical documents, biographies, images, and historical maps.
	Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center (EBSCO) provides detailed "how-to" instructions and creative ideas to meet the interests of virtually every hobby enthusiast. Includes full-text articles from leading hobby and craft magazines along with hundreds of how-to videos and thousands of recipes.
	Home Improvement Reference Center (EBSCO) features full-text content from leading home improvement books and magazines, images not found anywhere else online, and how-to videos of popular home repair projects.
