Montgomery College's STEM explorations Program for 6th grade girls

Montgomery College is holding its 24th annual Sonya Kovalevsky Day, a free one day STEM Explorations conference for Montgomery County 6th grade girls on Saturday November 14, 2020 virtually through Zoom. The first sixty 6th grade girls from Montgomery County that register are guaranteed seats.

ACT-SO Virtual Career Fair

Join us for the ACT-SO Virtual Career Fair on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 via ZOOM. Please register today; Pre-registration is required. We have many professionals in writing, visual arts, performing arts, entrepreneurship, public service, architecture and STEM and even a professional who works for the Washington Football Team! Mental Health Awareness Week

MCPS will mark Mental Health Awareness Week from October 26–31 with a weeklong expo, including Zoom workshops, a resource fair, breakout sessions and a question-and-answer session. Some workshops will be available in multiple languages. All workshops and activities throughout the week will be held virtually. The free event, hosted by MCPS and the Montgomery County School Psychologists’ Association, is open to staff, students and their families. www.MCPSMentalHealth.org

ABLE to help parents

Advancing Black Lives in Education (ABLE). ABLE, Inc. – is an organization established by a small group of former educators, administrators, school board members, and Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) parents specifically to address the needs of Black children in this new virtual learning environment made necessary because of the coronavirus. The middle school interscholastic virtual athletics program is available for students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade and consists of three virtual sport seasons, including fall (cross country and softball), winter (basketball), and spring (soccer).
