NEW MCPS COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS - Effective for Winter & Spring Seasons (Basketball & Soccer)

Beginning Monday, December 6, the start of the winter sports season, all middle school student-athletes will be required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to participation. NBMS Athletics 2021-2022

The middle school interscholastic athletics program is available for students in seventh, and eighth grade and consists of three sport seasons, including fall (cross country and softball), winter (basketball), and spring (soccer). All students participating in the fall season, as part of the MCPS interscholastic athletics program, must complete the online registration process. NBMS Polaris magazine 2020-2021

The Spring issue of Polaris is here and hope is in the air! Click on the blue link above to tap into the creative endeavors of our staff and fellow students. You can read the results of the survey you took on trends and student life under Covid. There are proposals for new classes and activities submitted by 7th graders and artwork from Ms Zhang’s class. You can find reports on ecology,poems of hope, Day in the Life vignettes, and so much more. We have filled 50 pages full of poetry,prose, art, and photography all written and created by and for the students of NBMS. Congratulations to our outgoing 8th grade students, especially our 8th grade Polaris staff!

National History Day Winners at NBMS

National History Day (NHD) is a program that encourages students to engage in historical thinking skills through the creation of an in-depth research project related to a theme. All 7th graders in the Global Humanities course create and present a NHD project. The students create such excellent projects, but only a few can move forward to the county-level contest.
