We are offering a Holds To Go service at Candlewood. Visit the Destiny Library Catalog to choose the books you would like to check out. Then complete the reservation form to request your books. You will be able to put up to five books on hold at a time. Each Wednesday we will have two pick up times for the reserved books - 9:00 - 11:00 AM and 3:00 - 5:00 PM. You can also request that your books be delivered to you at home!
At Candlewood, library instruction is scheduled flexibly. This means that students do not have a set time each week when they come to the library. Instead, they come to the library to work on research projects every day for an entire week about twice a quarter. They also have literature lessons a few times a quarter when they come to the library to listen to a story or hear book talks about books they might like to read.
The Black-Eyed Susan Award is a children's choice award for the state of Maryland. The BES Award honors outstanding picture books and chapter books – each year 15 picture books and 10 chapter books are nominated. Students in the state of Maryland vote for the winning book in each category – that is what makes this Award program so exciting!
