Good afternoon, 

Starting next Tuesday, April 20, and continuing every Tuesday until the end of the year, Neelsville MS will be a voluntary COVID-19 pool testing location.  This means students and staff can opt-in to participate in COVID-19 pool testing once per week.  You only need to opt-in once, and then your student (and/or staff) will be able to participate in testing each week they are in the building.

Student Service Learning (SSL)

Summer School (Summer Up) at NMS

Neelsville will be offering a 4-week SummerUp program during the month of July: Tuesday, July 6-Friday, July 30.  Our SummerUp program will be an in-person opportunity for our incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  Our schedule will consist of a 5.5-hour day, from 8am until 1:30pm, Monday through Friday.  SummerUp will consist of 4 courses: Literature (English/Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening), Mathematics, Technology, and Outdoor/Physical Education.  Included in SummerUp is free breakfast and lunch for all students.  Transportation will also be provided.  Due to our limited availability of space, we are requesting that students interested in participating attend the full day sessions for the duration of the SummerUp program.  Please provide information regarding your interest for your child this summer:

After School Activities

Excel Beyond the Bell Program Begins April 20th - Click for Flyer

  •  April 20-June 10th on Tuesdays and Thursdays for each cohort
  •  In-Person-4 offerings with 12 students per offering ( Total of 48) for Cohort A and then another 48 for Cohort B.
  • Snacks will be provided
  • Students will be divided by 3 buses.  
  • Buses will arrive at 5:20 to depart at 5:30
  • Students must register to participate

EBB Registration Packets are available at the school's Main Office. 

Neelsville school clubs meet virtually from 3:30-4:30pm on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from October 13th to May 21st.

Spring Sports 

Intramural Sports Begins Monday, May 10th!
Intramural sports will begin Monday May 10th and are open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Virtual students can participate if they have transportation to the school. Students should bring a towel and a water bottle with their name on it.
 
 
Neelsville will have boys and girls basketball and soccer teams. The season starts on May 11th and ends on May 27th.  We will have in person practices every Tuesday and Thursday. Sports physicals are required. Sixth graders are not allowed to participate in middle school athletics. 
 

Watkins Mill High School Youth Summit Registration

Good afternoon Rising WMHS 9th Grade Students and Families,

We are excited to offer the return of our Youth Summer Summit this Summer.  This one week camp experience will provide students with an opportunity to connect with other WMHS students while participating in engaging activities to familiarize themselves with the culture of Watkins Mill High School.  Sessions will take place Monday-Friday from 8:00am-12:30pm, transportation and meal service is provided.  Families can select one of the following weeks, spaced is limited to 20 students per session to adhere to CDC guidelines.:

  • June 28 - July 2
  • July 5 - July 9
  • July 12 - July 16
  • July 26 - July 30
  • August 2 - August 6  

Register by Friday June 4, 2021 using the following link.  Once registration is complete, you will receive additional details via email.
