Neelsville 10 Days of Virtual Instruction 

myMCPS ConnectEd 1/20/2022

Dear Neelsville families,

As you have heard, all MCPS schools are closed today, Thursday, January 20.  As a school scheduled to move to a 10-Day Virtual Instruction program today, our teachers Planning/Preparation Day has moved to tomorrow, Friday, January 21.  Here’s our schedule:

  • Friday, Jan 21: Teacher Preparation Day – NO Zoom/Virtual classes for students
  • Monday, Jan 24: Professional Day – NO Zoom/Virtual classes for students
  • Tuesday, Jan 25-Friday, Jan 28: Virtual Instruction for students – Starting with Period 8 on Tuesday (see calendar above)
  • Monday, Jan 31: Students & Staff return to In-Person Instruction

I have included a copy of next week’s calendar with this message – please review with your children.  Also, please remember that we will have meal distribution tomorrow from 11am until 1pm.  Please complete the Meal Form Request if you wish to pick up a 10-day meal pack.  As always, please let us know if you have any questions/concerns.  We can be reached at 301-353-8064.  Take care.

Estimadas familias de Neelsville,

Como han escuchado, todas las escuelas de MCPS están cerradas hoy, jueves 20 de enero. Como una escuela programada para pasar hoy a un programa de instrucción virtual de 10 días, el Día de planificación/preparación de nuestros maestros se trasladó a mañana, viernes 21 de enero. Este es nuestro nuevo horario:

  • viernes, 21 de enero: Día de preparación de maestros – NO hay Zoom/clases virtuales para estudiantes
  • lunes 24 de enero: Día profesional: NO hay Zoom/clases virtuales para estudiantes
  • martes 25 de enero a viernes 28 de enero: Instrucción virtual para estudiantes, a partir del período 8 el martes (consulte el calendario adjunto)
  • lunes 31 de enero: los estudiantes y el personal regresan a instrucción en persona

He incluido una copia del calendario de la próxima semana con este mensaje; revíselo con sus hijos. Además, recuerde que tendremos distribución de comidas mañana de 11am a 1pm. PTSA Fundraiser Skating and Five Guys - January 30th 

Join the NMS PTSA for a double fundraiser (ice skating & dinner)  at the Rockville Town Square ice skating rink and the Five Guys right next to it on Sunday, Jan 30th. The ice skating fundraiser is from 6-8 pm and Five Guys is 5-9 pm.

After School Activities

Excel Beyond the Bell (EBB) Accepting Registrations for Second Semester
  • The Excel Beyond the Bell (EBB) program is currently accepting registration forms for their Spring Session that starts on Monday, Jan. 31st, 2022.
  • EBB is a free after school program that provides students with a variety of activities after school. New activities for Spring Session include It's Electric, Paint Zone, Photography and Basketball.
  • The EBB program runs Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students should report the cafeteria right after school to receive their meal before heading to their activities.
  • MCPS activity buses are provided for students and depart no later than at 5:45pm each day.
  • Registration forms are taken on a first come, first serve basis, and should be emailed to rec.excelbeyondthebell@montgomerycountymd.gov or submitted to the school main office. 
  • A final roster of activities will be posted in the school's cafeteria prior to the first day of the program. If your student has enrolled in an activity that is already full, they will be contacted to pick another activity or will be placed on the waitlist.
  • Spaces are limited, please sign your student up today! Linked is the brochure and registration form. Please be sure that both forms are filled out completely.
