I would like to introduce myself as the new principal of Captain James E. Daly Elementary School. I am both honored and proud to serve the students, staff, and families of Captain James E. Daly Elementary School. I will continue to build on the tradition of excellence established by the staff and community. I feel truly fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students, families, and staff. I am confident that as a united and collaborative school community, we will continue to make a difference in each child’s life.

I have been an educator for 21 years. I started my career in Baltimore where I taught first, third, and fourth grades. During my 21 years as an educator, I have also had the opportunity to be a mentor teacher, reading and writing national trainer, reading specialist, curriculum developer, academy coordinator and teacher of elementary education undergraduate students. Most of my career has been spent on the elementary level with a short period on the secondary level. In Montgomery County, I have been an assistant principal at Sherwood Elementary School and most recently the principal intern at William Tyler Page Elementary School. I received my undergraduate degree at Coppin State University and both my masters and doctorate degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

I was born and raised in Baltimore by a single mother. Currently, I live in Prince George's County, MD. I enjoy shopping, reading, spending time with my family and friends, and traveling. Being an educator is more than just a job to me, it is truly who I am.

I believe in creating strong relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff. My commitment to ensure that all students perform at high levels academically, socially, and emotionally guides my work each day.
