Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,

This Monday, Labor Day, schools are closed. Have a wonderful Labor Day Holiday! We reopen on Tuesday and debut our new Coyote Connect Advisory Period, aimed at wellness and building school spirit and community. This week all sports teams will be in action so make plans to come out and see them. Students will need to show school ID to enter events. Grade 9 MAP-R & MAP-M testing window will open this week for one month. In addition, on Wednesday during lunch, CHS will host a Clubs & Activities Fair. This is a great opportunity to for students to learn about various organizations and get involved. Thursday we welcome all families to Back to School Night, with shuttle service from Rocky Hill MS. Coyote Connect Advisory Period

Clarksburg High School is excited to announce a revamped and innovative social and emotional learning experience for our students this school year! The 2023-2024 Advisory period will occur every Tuesday and feature a once a week, 40 minute wellness time that rotates on a monthly basis through periods 1-4. Please check the newly crafted schedule HERE. During the first portion of the Advisory period, students will engage in social and emotional wellness activities in addition to school spirit and community building opportunities. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce out newest Advisory feature, Coyote Connect. Each week during the Advisory period, students will have a 25 minute window of opportunity to visit a staff member for academic enrichment and intervention, mentorship, wellness, or club and activity experiences. Students and staff will collaborate to make an appointment in advance for Coyote Connect. Please note, initially, staff will have an availability limit of five student visitors per Coyote Connect.

The PSAT - Registration due TODAY

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Testing (NMSQT) is a national exam issued by the College Board. This test is used to measure high school learning and to predict college success. Content includes reading, writing and language, and mathematics. When taken in Grade 11, the PSAT serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT), which recognizes promising high school students with college scholarships and other awards. Back to School Night at CHS

Parents are invited to join us for an in-person Back to School Night this Thursday, September 7th beginning with 1st period at 7:00 pm! Parents can walk their student's schedule, meet teachers and staff, and learn about curriculum and expectations for the academic year! Please attend BTSN using your ParentVUE schedule to move from classroom to classroom. BTSN will end by 8:40 pm. Shuttle Service will be available from Rocky Hill Middle School beginning at 6 pm.

MAP- R & MAP-M Testing for Grade 9

The Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment will be administered to all 9th grade students in both Reading and Math. The results provide teachers, students, and families with an accurate assessment of a student's ability, accurately measuring what a student knows and needs to learn. A House Fire in the Clarksburg community has left a family with nothing. Please help in any way you can. A GoFundMe account has been set up. #BeGoodDoGood

All students are reminded to bring their charged Chromebook to school. CHARGE THOSE CHROMEBOOKS NIGHTLY! IMPORTANT NOTE - Lunch Expectations: Students may eat in the cafeteria or in classrooms that are supervised by a teacher or member of the Clarksburg High School staff. Students may also eat in one of our three outdoor courtyards if weather permits. The courtyards represent a privilege, and students are expected to maintain the grounds impeccably during lunch or they will simply lose the opportunity to eat within them. Students may not eat nor assemble in any stairwells during the lunch period. Students may not leave school grounds during lunch without parent consent and administrator approvalStudents may not make mobile delivery orders to Clarksburg High School, nor receive mobile orders at the school. Parents - please do not order mobile meal orders for students.
