Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,

This past week I announced my retirement, to occur January 1, 2024, after almost 30 years in MCPS. My planning for retirement has been in the works for many, many months. I appreciate the heartfelt appreciation emails, social media posts, and notes from our alumni, parents, staff, and current students. Your well wishes mean so very much to me. Thank you.

This upcoming week is a short week, with Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday, Latin Dance Competition on Monday, and the Thanksgiving holiday beginning on Wednesday. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. In this season of reflection and appreciation, it is important for us to come together as a community and acknowledge the blessings that surround us.

This year has presented its own set of challenges, but through it all, our community has demonstrated resilience, strength, and compassion. This Thanksgiving, let's not only focus on the obstacles we've overcome but also on the countless reasons we have to be thankful.

For me, I'm thankful for the dedicated educators and staff who tirelessly work to inspire and educate our students. Your commitment to our student scholars does not go unnoticed.

I'm thankful for the students, whose enthusiasm and curiosity bring life to our halls.

I'm thankful for the parents and guardians who entrust us with the education and well-being of their children. Your partnership is invaluable, and together we create a supportive and enriching environment for our students.

Please take a pause this Thanksgiving to appreciate the warmth of our community, the strength of our bonds, and the opportunities we have to make a positive impact. May this holiday be a time of reflection, connection, and gratitude.

Two additional dates in December have been announced for senior photos. For Seniors who wish their photo included in the yearbook, these are the final two dates. In this Sunday's message is: Parent Teacher Conferences, PTSA Message, and a look ahead at next weeks calendar, and more.

Please be sure to check student attendance, as that can be a marker for success or disappointment. Reminder to check grades online via ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Check out the Week At A Glance and news below!
