Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,

This Monday we kick off the '23-'24 academic year! As you arrive, make sure you...

LOOKOUT - DRIVE, RIDE, AND WALK SAFEYLY!

Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight and Board of Education President Karla Silvestre will kickoff our Back to School welcome for MCPS at Clarksburg High School on Monday, August 28, 2023. Media coverage, Spirit of Clarksburg Marching Band, CHS cheerleaders, Poms, and a host of other student and parent leaders will be on hand to welcome back students and staff to what will be a fantastic year!

Homeroom classrooms will be used on Monday and Tuesday to start. Here is the CHS HOMEROOM Classroom list that will also be posted around the school - please review in advance to find locations.

  • As a reminder, please use Foreman Boulevard to enter school property for all carpool/kiss-and-ride drop off and pickup of students and staff. Please be patient and LOOKOUT while you walk, drive, or ride! PLEASE DO NOT USE WIMS ROAD (until after 7:35 am) AND NEVER HAVE STUDENTS EXIT CARS ON FREDERICK ROAD/355.
  • Senior Sunrise will occur on Monday beginning at 6:15 am in the Senior Parking lot.

All students are reminded to bring their charged Chromebook to school. Grade 9 and new students were provided Chromebooks on Thursday. All other returning students should bring charged Chromebooks, which were provided last year, to school. CHARGE THOSE CHROMEBOOKS NIGHTLY! Students without a Chromebook will either be provided with them in Homeroom locations or may borrow a Chromebook from the Media Center.

School Bus Information can be found here: https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/transportation/busroutes/

IMPORTANT NOTE: For the safety of our school environment, face coverings may be worn indoors only for health, religious and/or cultural purposes. When used for health protection or to prevent disease transmission, acceptable and effective face coverings are well fitting surgical masks, KN95-style masks or N95 respirators. With the exception of face coverings worn for religious or cultural purposes, individuals will be asked to remove other types of face coverings (such as a ski mask, neck gaiter, or scarf over one’s face). If the alternate face covering is worn for health purposes, CHS will provide surgical masks for student, staff or visitor use. If a face covering is needed at school for health purposes, CHS will provide surgical masks for students, staff or visitors who do not already have access to one at school.

Bus schedules for the 2023–2024 school year are posted online for the entire county, as well as for CHS (See CHS Bus Schedules). A letter from our MCPS transportation supervisor and a listing of the arrival and departure bus stops and routes for Clarksburg High School have been included for your review. Students should arrive at the bus stop 5 to 10 minutes prior to the start time listed on the bus route document and ride the bus to and from Clarksburg High School.

Student pictures will be taken this week Wednesday through Friday during English classes. Students will receive student ID cards that they must carry on their person while on campus. ID Cards will be used to enter any sporting event or activity at CHS and all MCPS high schools. The week will culminate in a Pep Rally to celebrate the new year and Fall Sports!

Students are reminded to show that school spirit by wearing class colors this Friday:

  • Freshman (Class of 2027) - Wear WHITE
  • Sophomore (Class of 2026) - Wear COYOTE BLUE
  • Juniors (Class of 2025) - Wear NAVY BLUE
  • Seniors (Class of 2024) - Wear BLACK
