About Our School
School Vision Statement:
We, the Brookhaven Community, work collaboratively to instill a passion for learning and foster a responsible, respectful, caring and honest environment. We expect social and academic success from all students.
School Mission Statement
The students of Brookhaven Elementary School will meet or exceed yearly MCPS math and reading benchmarks. Students will achieve these goals by being critical thinkers and meeting high academic expectations by adults. Students will receive rigorous and differentiated instruction. All Brookhaven stakeholders will work together to build socially responsible, hardworking and college ready citizens.
As a result of the root cause analysis, students will receive flexible differentiated instruction that is data driven and results in measurable growth for all students with an emphasis on our Hispanic and ESOL student groups.
Originally constructed in 1961 and modernized in 1995, it is part of the Wheaton Cluster and is located in the Aspen Hill neighborhood of Rockville. Brookhaven serves a student body of 471 Pre-K through Grade 5 regular and Special Education students.
This year Brookhaven has four sections of full-day kindergarten and two half-day regular preschool classes in addition to our PEP Classic and PEP Intensive Needs Classes. Global Children's Center currently provides before and after school care for K-5 students.
