Brookhaven Bobcats PTA
Most of 2020 has been a difficult and challenging year in so many ways. Families worldwide are dealing with a public health crisis, economic uncertainties, social unrest, and more. We know this very much goes for our students and families and our teachers and staff as well. While many traditional programs and events will not make sense, we are still planning to support and enrich the Brookhaven community.
In May, we partnered with school leadership to quickly mobilize to provide much needed financial relief to Brookhaven families; the program was called Brookhaven Cares. Together, we distributed $2,600 in assistance directly to 52 families via Amazon and Visa gift cards. The only way the PTA was able to help was through the support of parents and teacher’s membership dollars, donations, and past monies from past fundraisers. So, we thank each one of you! Brookhaven Cares showed the power of an active PTA – being there for our students and families.
And while this school year is very different than anyone anticipated or ever experienced, there is still an opportunity for Brookhaven Bobcats PTA to serve the Brookhaven Elementary School community – and we need you to do so!
Ways to Get Involved
PTA Membership is annual, expiring at the end of each fiscal year on September 30, so we really need you to join. Last year we grew our membership 20 percent over the previous year to 103 paid members! We plan at least to achieve the same this year. Here is the membership form in English and Spanish. Please join today by completing the form and emailing to BrookhavenBobcatsPTA1@gmail.com
You must be a paid member to vote on the annual budget, funding requests, and election.
We can now accept membership fees electronically via PayPal or CashApp. A small processing fee may apply.
We also still accept checks mailed to the attention of the Bobcats PTA, Inc. at 4610 Renn Street, Rockville, Maryland 20853. We check the mail weekly.
Currently, our general membership meetings will all be virtual via Zoom.
The Brookhaven Bobcats PTA is a registered501(c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible. Please consider giving.
Our Facebook group is where we post events and announcements regularly. Click here to join the group.
Got an Idea for a Meeting Speaker or Program?
We are also looking to connect and support our student's education with some additional programming. If you have an area or information you would like to share or have an idea for a speaker or event, please send to BrookhavenBobcatsPTA1@gmail.com
The Brookhaven Bobcats Parent Teacher Association (PTA) serves the Brookhaven Elementary School community.
Our PTA members, along with our excellent faculty and administration, support various initiatives that benefit the students, teachers, and school through a combination of donations, volunteering, events, and fundraising.
To make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
