One More Week of Holds-To-Go!

HOLDS TO GO AT BEVERLY FARMS

There is just one more week of Holds-to-Go pick-ups for our virtual learners. Next Wednesday, June 2nd will be our last pick-up day for our Beverly Farms friends learning from home.  Thursday, June 3rd will be the last day for our in-school learners to place books on hold.  All books are due back to the library by Friday, June 11th.

Lastly, please keep looking for books that were checked out last spring.  There are still close to 600 books that have not been returned!  I will keep a box in the main office all summer if you happen upon some of these missing books.

Here's how to put a book on hold:

  • Students can put up to 5 books on hold using Destiny Discover.  Students log in to Destiny Discover with their unique user ID (numbers only) and password.  Please watch  this brief video to learn more about how to put books on hold.  If students are in person, their books will be bagged and delivered to their classrooms within 1-2 school days.

These steps apply to families whose child/children are remaining virtual:

  • Destiny Discover will flash a message that books are ready for pick up. Please disregard this message. Students/families need to wait for an email message from Mrs. Schnure that their books are ready for pick up.  This message will be sent to the student’s Canvas/myMCPS classroom Inbox.
  • After notification, families can pick up their books from the cart that will be at the main entrance between 9:00 AM and 1 PM on Wednesdays.  If it is raining, please press the call button and let the front office staff know you need to come into the lobby to pick up library books for your child/children.  Books will be in a bag labeled with the student’s name.
  • Please bring back any books you are ready to return and leave them in the return box in the main office.  Not sure what you have checked out?  Please watch this brief video to learn how to check your account!  We will quarantine all returned books for approximately one week to ensure it is safe for them to circulate again.

We look forward to getting more of our library books off the shelves and into the hands of our students!  Please contact Mrs. Schnure at Nancy_E_Schnure@mcpsmd.org if you have any questions.
