Do you have a direct connection with a local carpet vendor?

magic_carpet_man

Several classrooms in our school are in need of new carpets.  These area rugs provide our children a comfortable gathering space for group learning and having fun, however several classrooms have rugs that are old and falling apart, or simply have no rugs at all.  Commercial grade classroom rugs from school supply vendors can cost upwards of $300 each.

The PTA would like to purchase new, durable, flame resistant, carpets for the classrooms that are most in need.  We are in search of a parent who may have a direct connection to a local carpet/rug vendor.   If you have a connection with a local vendor and can help the PTA secure a good discount on the purchase of multiple rugs, please send an email to info@cgespta.org.

Join box tops online - it's easy & free!

ebox_tops

  • earn more for your school

    • Earn eBoxTops™ for your school when you shop online
    • Enter for chances to win thousands of Bonus Box Tops for your school each month
    • Enjoy recipes using Box Tops products
    • Save with monthly coupons for your favorite brands

eBoxTops, like physical Box Tops, are worth 10¢ each for your school. However, instead of clipping these Box Tops and sending them into your school, eBoxTops are awarded electronically to your school earnings at btfe.com and will be included in your school's next Box Tops check amount.

You can earn eBoxTops by shopping through the Box Tops Marketplace or the Box Tops Reading Room. Each participating retailer at the Marketplace has agreed to donate a certain number of eBoxTops for every qualifying $10 purchase a Box Tops member makes through btfe.com.  The Box Tops Reading Room allows school supporters to earn money for your school when they shop online at Barnes & Noble through the Box Tops site. Barnes & Noble will automatically donate up to 6 eBoxTops to your school with every $10 qualifying purchase you make!

An Online Power Earner is a Box Tops member who has earned extra cash for their school online at btfe.com, in addition to clipping physical Box Tops.  To become an Online Power Earner, just shop online through the Box Tops Marketplace® or Box Tops Reading Room.  Each of these activities allows members to earn even more cash for their school electronically, without clipping Box Tops.  As an Online Power Earner you will receive 10 Bonus Box Tops for every 100 eBoxTops you earn.

That’s all.  It’s pretty easy!  You can help your school earn money just by a few clicks on the mouse, shopping for things that you normally do on a regular basis; but if you access your favorite retailer through btfe.com, you help your school earn money at the same time!

Thanks for your continued support!  We have collected a record number of box tops this year, all by the dedication of our student, parents, and staff!  Help us earn even more for College Gardens by signing up online, and start earning eBoxTops!

Our Children (This week's feature article)

"Make Your School a Bully-Free Zone" by Maureen Costello, Director of Teaching Tolerance

When parents think of bullying at school, the first image that comes to mind may be a large child shoving a smaller, younger child in a schoolyard. But bullying is rarely so obvious these days. The most common forms of bullying can go unnoticed, and can do far more lasting damage. This fact presents a challenge to parents and educators working to create a bully-free environment in their schools. Fortunately, there are concrete, effective steps parents and educators can take to prevent bullying—and prevention is the best solution.

Recognize the signs and causes of bullying

What causes bullying? A genuine conflict between students is distressing, but it is not bullying. Bullies seek power and almost always bully a child who is not likely to fight back and who is perceived to be different or “less than.” The victim may come from a nontraditional family, practice an unfamiliar religion, wear unusual clothes, or have some unfashionable physical or emotional traits.
