Family Market - This Tuesday, April 2nd. Bring your grocery bags ready to shop beginning at 5:00 p.m. Capital Area Food Bank items.

The kindergarten registration window is open now through April 12th. If you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2024, read, “MCPS 4-Step Registration Process” to learn how to enroll your child and more. 

MARYLAND COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (MCAP) ðŸŽ“ -  Students in grade 3 will take the MCAP assessment for English/Language Arts (ELA) on  April 4th and 5th and April 8th and 9th.  Practice tests are available here for students to familiarize themselves with the items and formats used for the different MCAP assessments. Read here for testing resources and to learn more information on MCAP.  

How to help your child/Reminders:

  • Get a good night’s rest the night before
  • Eat a healthy breakfast at home or plan to eat the school-provided breakfast
  • Be on time on the day of testing - Students who arrive at school late will not be allowed into the classroom during a testing session and will be required to test on a make-up day.
  • NO CELL PHONES/WATCHES/Bluetooth Headphones - Personal mobile devices, such as cell phones/watches/tablets or Bluetooth-enabled headphones are permitted during the administration of the assessment is a violation of test security and is strictly prohibited. *Students will NOT be allowed access to such devices during the testing period.

Choose Respect Montgomery cordially invites you to RespectFest on April 7, 2024, which aims to educate students, parents, and youth service providers about healthy and respectful relationships. RespectFest will be a fun, interactive festival with games, activities, yoga and self-defense workshops, performances, food, and raffle prizes. The festival is from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Wheaton Community Recreation Center.  Read here for more information.
