Illness in Family (IIF) Leave

Montgomery County Public Schools employees may request IIF leave in the event an immediate family member becomes ill and needs care. Immediate family members are children, parents (natural, foster, step, or in-law), brother, sister, and spouse. In addition, anyone who lives regularly in the employee’s household and anyone for whom the employee has durable medical or personal representative power of attorney also is considered immediate family.
