Tuesday, March 10th  Wootton’s bands, Patriot Winds, Symphonic Winds and the Wind Ensemble, all performed beautifully for the MCPS Band Festival which was hosted at Wootton High School.  Each band received “Straight Ones” and virtually all A’s in the sub categories.  Wootton was also the only school that had three bands at festival and so we are super proud of the work that they have accomplished.  Some of our soloists for the day were Gina Youn, 9th, bass clarinet; Brian Haugabook, 9th, baritone; Danielle Lee, 10th, piano; Christopher Yeh, 10th, trumpet; Dinaz Campbell, 9th, oboe; Hana Lee, 12th, flute; Anna Chen, 12th, clarinet; Shannon Newell, 10th, oboe; Alyssa Herman, 11th, horn; Christian Yeh, 10th, trumpet; Eric Chen, 12th, trumpet; Andrew Hui, 11th, piano, and Tara Wasik, 9th, bassoon.

Thanks to the students who helped run this event.  They were busy setting up the stage 16 different ways through the day, leading the bands from room to room, and organizing the sight reading portion of the festival.  It’s really a huge amount of work, and several of the different band directors  who came to our building were so impressed with our young people who were keeping everything running smoothly.
