This week is National School Counseling Week. Our counselors are such a huge part of our Wood Community. We will acknowledge them throughout the week and hope that you can take a moment to send them a quick note of appreciation. Thank you.
Rising 7th and 8th grade registration cards are due ASAP
If you haven't already done so, please be sure to turn in your registration card for next year to your grade level counselor and work with your counselor to complete your google preference form. This needs to be completed this week in order to ensure you get to choose the electives you would like to take next year. Any questions, please see your counselor.

Outdoor Ed's Next Chaperone Meeting - Wed. Feb. 15 @ 6:30PM
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are still in need of chaperones for the 6th graders, especially dads. Our next important meeting for Outdoor Ed is next week, Wednesday, February 15th @ 6:30PM. Voices of Wood
Mark your calendars and join us to hear the words and music from 30 of your peers for the first ever Voices of Wood open mic night! It will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9th from 6:30 - 8pm in the Wood MS media center. Light refreshments will be provided. Take a chance to win a door prize as well! WIDA testing continues this week
The WIDA ACCESS for ELLs/Alternate ACCESS for ELLs assessment will take place on January 31 - February 8. Your child does not need to study for ACCESS for ELLs. The test is an opportunity for students to demonstrate all the ways that they understand and can communicate in English. Prepare for test day by making sure your child gets plenty of sleep, eats breakfast at school or at home, and brings a fully charged Chromebook to school.
HBCU College Fair - Friday, February 17
The Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair, co-sponsored by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and the Montgomery County Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), is scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2023.
