Mrs. Audra Wilson, Principal
I am very excited about the 2019-2020 school year and returning to Westover for my second year! It continues to be my distinct privilege and honor to serve the children and families of the Westover community. As our vision states, we are committed to inspiring our students to be creative problem solvers and lifelong learners. We promote a respectful, equitable atmosphere that elevates academic excellence and social emotional growth for all.
To live our vision and to ensure a great start for each child, our team has spent time this summer learning about our students, analyzing student performance data, and meeting with families. As a result of our discussions and system-wide initiatives, we will continue our focus on teaching and learning and answering the five critical questions: Are they learning? Are they learning enough? How do we know? If not, why not? What are we going to do about it? We will use a multiple measures approach to answer these questions as students move through the critical elementary milestones. Our data continues to reflect the hard work of our staff and students; we are especially proud to share that 92.4% of our students met the system-required 2 or more Evidence of Learning (EOL) literacy measures, and 89.6% of students met 2 or more EOL math measures. We have much to be excited about and welcome the opportunity to continue to grow!
On behalf of the Westover Elementary School staff, I want to welcome you and your child to a brand new school year. Please know that we are committed to the education and success of each child and to establishing a strong partnership between home and school.
Audra M. Wilson
