MCPS Chromebook Policy - Updated 2022

Chromebook Damage Financial Responsibility Information

Families, we want to remind you that students are responsible for taking care of their assigned Chromebook, and of the MCPS Chromebook Use Policy.  If your Chromebook is lost or broken, you will incur an obligation ranging from $25 (for a lost/broken charger or minor damage) to $150 for a loss or total replacement needed.  You will need to pay online and bring your receipt to Stonegate's main office to get a replacement, or make arrangements to pay in cash at MCPS’s office at 45 West Gude Drive.

For those students who occasionally leave home without their Chromebook or charger, Stonegate has a limited number of loaner Chromebooks and chargers available at the media center for checkout for same-day use.  Those loaners must be returned at the end of the day so they are available for students the following day.  Failure to return a loaner promptly will incur an obligation as well.

Protective Chromebook carry cases are available from the office at no charge.
