School Move to North Lake
The construction of our new school will begin in January 2022 and continue for approximately 18 months. We are scheduled to make the move back to our new building in August of 2023.

Car Riders
Stonegate at North Lake does not have a separate turn-in lane for car riders. We will use a small section of the staff parking lot as a car rider drop-off and pick-up loop. For that reason it is strongly recommended that you have your child take their assigned bus. Cars must yield to buses and enter the staff parking lot by making a right turn only. There will be no left turns. This requires you to enter the neighborhood by making a right turn on Rocking Spring Drive (from Norbeck) and another right on Bauer Driver. You must also exit to the right from the car rider loop.
Please do not drive and park in the neighborhood to make your student a “walker” to your car. There will be no walker options for arrival and dismissal. There is no space for cars to park. We want to respect our new community’s neighborhood by not increasing traffic and parking issues.
School Hours and Schedule
While at North Lake Center, our new school hours will be 9:25 am – 3:50 pm. This will be effective January 4, 2022. The doors will open for students at 9:05 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:50 p.m. We ask that students do not arrive before 9:25 unless they are being dropped off for Global, our before and after care.
If you need to pick up your student prior to bus dismissal, we ask that you arrive no later than 3:30 to sign them out and clear the traffic circle for bus dismissal. Car riders should be limited. Again, we are encouraging all students to take the bus.
Before and After Daycare Options at Stonegate at North Lake
Global Childcare will offer before and after care onsite at Stonegate at North Lake as they have done at our current location. Please contact Global via email at Stonegatedirector@globalchildrenscenter.com or call 301-972-5982 for more information and availability. Global Children’s Center is a private day care center that serves the students attending Stonegate Elementary.
Other providers, such as Kreative Kidz and Shine, will continue to have MCPS bus stops on the route. Please contact Dee Dee’s and Kang’s to see if transportation services will be provided. .
