SSIMS PTSA 2023-2024
Welcome to Silver Spring International Middle School (SSIMS)!
We are a diverse community of approximately 1150 students representing more than 40 countries. Our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, and French and Spanish Immersion programs engage students in learning about the world and developing critical thinking skills. The PTSA is an important and energetic part of the SSIMS community. We’re committed to supporting every student, teacher and staff member at our school so that all students have what they need to thrive and succeed.
It’s going to be a great year at SSIMS. We have a tremendous school and PTSA leadership team, committed and dynamic teachers, and amazing students and dedicated families. We look forward to seeing you as an active volunteer and member of the PTSA. We hope that you will embrace this wonderful community and share your skills and expertise with us. You play an important part in making SSIMS a great school for our students.
What is the PTSA?
The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a volunteer association where parents, educators, students, and other citizens can be active in their schools and communities. You can check out our website here.
How do I join?
To become a PTSA member, go to https://fspta-00151197.memberhub.com/store
The cost is $10 for parents, guardians, and community members. It is $5.25 for students and staff. The dues cover the entire year and mean that you can vote in PTSA meetings. We use the money to support the school through things like staff appreciation events.
How do I get information?
To hear about what is happening at SSIMS, join the listserv at SSIMSptsa+subscribe@groups.io.
Also attend PTSA meetings, which are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month. The first meeting of the 2023-2024 school year will be at Back to School Night on September 14 at 6:00pm. The next meetings will be on October 10th and November 9.
How can I help?
