SCES Summer Reading Program
We know that the most important thing kids can do during the summer to prevent learning loss, is just to keep reading so that those reading and thinking skills remain sharp! Any reading helps, so students can feel free to pick books that interest them and read for fun at the pool, the park, at home – anywhere!
All students need to do is to keep a Summer Reading Log and write down the books that they read this summer. Then choose two and write a post card to Sligo Creek about their favorite books! All of the details, including blank postcards, will be sent home in a packet from your classroom teacher. They are also attached here and will be on our website as well. Students who complete the challenge will be celebrated in September.
