Updates for Regional Countywide Programs for the 21-22 SY

  • High School Regional/Countywide Application Programs for Current Gr 9-11 Students: The high school regional/countywide application admission process for upper-classmen is complete and results have been sent to the Grade 9-11 applicants by mail. Applicants are either invited or given a waitlist number to the program(s) to which they applied.  The due date to accept or decline the invitation is February 19, 2021. Each high school principal will receive a list of students who accept a seat in a career-readiness part-time program after the deadline.

 

  • High School Regional/Countywide Application Programs for Rising Grade 11-12 Students:  The Round 2 admission process is now open for current Grade 10 and 11 students interested in a career readiness program for next school year.  The programs include various construction trades,  automotive, ROTC, restaurant, and  hospitality, etc.  Information and the student application can be found on the special programs website.   Students must apply using their MCPS Student ID. The application deadline for Round 2 is Friday, Feb. 19, 2021. Should there be more interest that seats available, a lottery will be run. Students applicants will be invited or be placed on the waitlist.  The results will be communicated to students and families by mid- March.
