Media Center Haunted House Contest: It's a haunted house contest and the media center challenges YOU to make a haunted house using cardboard and NON-EDIBLE items between October 18th and October 28th. Bring your haunted house to the media center by October 28th to be displayed and you could win a prize. Need cardboard? Stop by the media center to pick some up.

SGA Pink Out Day: On October 22nd, our Rocky Hill Middle School SGA is hosting a Pink Out in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Pull out all of your pink attire and let's turn Rocky Hill pink!

Student Advisory Team: Our first Student Advisory Team meeting is TODAY during lunches! If you filled out a permission slip, see Ms. Gramatges BEFORE your lunch today to get a pass. Grab your lunch, bring it up to the media center and find out what Student Advisory Team is all about!

Archery: Archery intramurals will continue this week with the following schedule: Tuesday will be for 6th graders only; Wednesday will be for 7th & 8th graders; and Thursday will be open to all students who have turned in an Intramural Permission slip to Ms. Brouillard.

Today's archery intramurals are for sixth grade only.

Cross Country: Attention Cross Country members: This is a reminder that we do not have practice this Thursday October 21st.

Tennis & Pickelball Intramurals: Tennis & Pickleball intramurals will be cancelled for this week! We will meet again next Wednesday & Thursday. Again, Tennis & Pickleball intramurals will be cancelled for this week. Please see Ms. Brouillard or Ms. Belman if you have any questions.

Leo Club: Leo Club members - this is a reminder that all posters are due to Mr. Stevenson by this Friday 10-22.

RH Readers: Share your love of reading with others by joining the RH Readers club! The RH Readers club participants will select a book to read to classes at Little Bennett or Clarksburg Elementary School. Our first meeting is during lunches on Tuesday, October 26th. Pick up a permission slip from the media center today!

Mystery Monday in the Media Center: It's Mystery Monday in the media center today during lunches! Grab a pass from the media center BEFORE your lunch today. Eat your lunch downstairs, and then come on up to the media center to participate in an activity that ends with a personalized water bottle! Hope to see you there!

Student Advisory Team: Do you like to hang out in the library? Want to help us plan some activities and contests? Then pick up a permission slip from the media center to be a part of the Student Advisory Team. Our first meeting is during lunches on Tuesday, October 19th. Hope to see you there!

Overdue Library Books: If you have any overdue library books please drop them by the media center. Others are waiting to read them! Feel free to drop off any books that belong to other schools and we’ll make sure they get back to their home schools. Thank you!

Chromebook/Laptop Updates: Hi, staff and students! When is the last time you've totally shut down your Chromebook or laptop? You should be totally shutting down and restarting your Chromebooks and laptops at least once a week so that updates can install. If you haven't done this recently, take a moment to do so today!

LBGTQ History Month: For LGBT History month, here’s some information about Anderson Cooper. Anderson Cooper is an American broadcast journalist and political commentator. He is the primary anchor of “Anderson Cooper 360”. He’s a single dad of an adorable 1 1/2 year-old son named Wyatt.

Chromebook Return: If you borrow a Chromebook from the media center today, please return it to the MAIN OFFICE before you leave.

SGA: Reminder to any SGA members to make sure your submit your nomination form by next Wednesday, Oct. 20th. Any SGA member wanting to run for an office needs to submit their nomination form by Wed. Oct. 20th.

BFFF Women's Meeting: The BFFF Women's meeting is this Thursday starting at 3:10 in room 158. It’s a great time to meet new friends and have ladies time. Got questions? You can email or speak with Mr. Phillips.

Cross Country: The girls Cross Country team lost to Hallie Wells Middle School on Wednesday by a score of 39-21. Jillian Owens (7th grade) finished 3rd overall. The boys team lost by a score of 19-40. Jaime (hi-may) Galvez Jr. finished 4th overall.

Tennis/Pickleball Intramurals: Tennis/Pickleball intramurals will meet on Wednesday & Thursday this week. Students must have an intramural permission slip turned in to Ms. Brouillard to stay. If staying, students will need to get their backpacks and meet in the Aux. Gym #1. See Ms. Brouillard or Ms. Belman if you have questions.

You should NOT be going out to the bus loop for any reason.

Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Contest: Like to draw? Then enter the Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest! Create a bookmark that reflects a conflict resolution or prevention theme and you could win $100.00. Check the Rocky Hill Course tile under Announcements in myMCPS Classroom or your MCPS Gmail account for more information. All entries are due by November 4th. Entry Form

SGA: Any SGA members interested in running for a position within Student Government must pick-up an application from Mr. Conley in room 167. All applications are due back by Wednesday, Oct. 20th.

Girls' Cross Country: Coach Stevenson would like to congratulate Jillian Owens (7th grader) for taking first place in our meet last week against Roberto Clemente. Jayden McAuliff placed 5th and Riley Pinsky 6th overall. The girls lost a close race by a score of 31 to 24.

Boys' Cross Country: The boys Cross Country team won their first meet 25 to 32. In Cross Country the lower score wins the meet. The boys were paced by Yoltzin Moran 2nd place and Jamie (pronounced- hi may) Galvez Jr. who took 3rd place.

BFFF Men's Group: BFFF Men's group is meeting this Wednesday, room 158. Free food, great conversation, and of course fun. Still have questions? See or email Mr. Phillips.

LGBT History Month: For LGBT History Month, here’s Ellen DeGeneres. She came out as lesbian in 1997 and has hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show since 2003. In 2016, she was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama for her actions to bring to light the issue of gay rights.

Leo Club: Attention Leo Club members: Mr. Stevenson would like to thank the students who attended yesterdays meeting. Please submit your Peace Poster to Mr. Stevenson as soon as you can. The deadline is Friday October 22nd.

Cross Country: Any member of the Cross Country team that is not attending today's meet should ask their teacher for a pass and see Mr. Stevenson immediately.
