Mentoring/SSL Opportunity

Mentoring SSL Opportunity

Explore, Create, Connect is an after school program made possible by the Trawick Foundation. It is a partnership between the school, Arts on the Block, Clancy Works Dance Company, and IMPACT Silver Spring.

We are currently looking for High School students for the role of "Teen Mentor" whose job it will be to assist students with homework in a specified subject area of their choice, help students in various arts/dance/writing activities during the sessions, and be a positive role model.

Teen Mentors will receive SSL hours for the time spent at Briggs Chaney including a training session prior to the program’s start and hours spent in the program. Teen Mentors are responsible for their own transportation to and from BCMS and we can work around your schedule for the year.

Our program starts this year on October 2nd and will run every Monday and Wednesday from 3-5pm in the Art Room at BCMS.

Below is a link to our “Teen Mentor Application” for interested students to apply. Students will be contacted after applying and notified of their acceptance and/or further questions.
