Signs of Suicide Counseling Lesson
All students in Grade 6 through 12 will participate in the Signs of Suicide® (SOS®) Prevention Program. The program will be implemented between February 26, 2021 and March 12, 2021. Students also will receive handouts that include the Act to Save a Life student newsletter and a list of school, local, and national resources that are available on mental health needs. Paint Branch Return to In-Person Instruction

As a result of the Board vote to delay the return of in-person experiences to March 15, the PSAT scheduled for January 26 is cancelled. Mr. Gerber will be in touch with students who paid for the PSAT and the school will be sending reimbursement checks to students. Grade 11 students who are still interested in qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship Program are still able to qualify through alternative entry. Culture of Respect Training for Students
An online student training lesson, entitled “Culture of Respect,” has been developed for students in grades 6 through 12. This online training lesson provides critical information that will help students better recognize the signs of inappropriate behaviors, including the various ways to report alleged/concerning incidents. Parent Academy TO GO is designed to inform and empower families as advocates and partners in their children's education. Workshops provide families with useful information and resources to support their children's academic and emotional well-being, as well as help them to be college and career ready. Through a variety of learning opportunities hosted by MCPS staff and community partners, we hope to strengthen our engagement with families and the community.
