About AP Exams

Northwest High School is proud to offer 27 different Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and each course includes a standardized national AP exam at the end of the school year.  Taking these exams is excellent preparation for large cumulative assessments in college, and students can earn college credit and/or advanced standing in college based on their performance.  It is important to note that the majority of the AP exams this year will be taken by students online at home; details will be shared with students in April.  In addition, please note that AP exam scores are not included in the calculation of a student's course grade.  For more information about specific AP courses and exams, please visit the College Board's AP Central website at https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/about-ap-2021.

AP Exam Payment

Taking AP exams this year is optional for all students.  If you would like to pay for AP exams in any of the AP classes for which your student is enrolled, please click here to pay online no later than Thursday, April 15 or click here for detailed step by step instructions. The cost of each exam is $95. Fee reductions are available for students who qualify, and we are committed to ensuring that the cost does not prevent students from being able to take AP exams. If you would like to discuss fee reduction options, or have questions, please contact one of us via e-mail. You may also fill out the AP Exam Fee Assistance Form
