Return to In-Person Learning

Earlier this month the Montgomery County Board of Education voted to begin a phased return of students to in-person learning, beginning in March. Virtual learning will continue for all students until the date designated for the start of in-person learning for their grade level.  In addition, all families who would like for their students to continue virtual learning for the remainder of the school year will be able to do so.  If you would like to make a change from virtual to partial in-person, or from partial in-person to virtual, please click here for more information.

Information for Seniors Interested in Having the Seal of Biliteracy on Their Diplomas

The Maryland Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition given to students who achieve a high level of proficiency in one or more languages other than English.  Students who receive the designation will receive a medal to wear at graduation and have the distinction noted on their transcript and diploma.  Seniors who would like to take the required proficiency test for this designation should visit Maryland Seal of Biliteracy Information to pre-register no later than this Friday, February 26. Click here for more information.

SAT School Day for Juniors: Tuesday, April 13, 2021

Northwest High School is planning to offer the SAT (without the essay) free of charge to interested juniors on the morning of Tuesday, April 13, depending on health and safety conditions.  If your 11th grade student is interested in participating, please click here to complete the form.

Anti-Vaping Symposium: Saturday, February 27, 2021

MCPS is hosting a Virtual Anti-Vaping Symposium this Saturday, February 27, at 11:30 am The event is open to all community members and will provide information on the health risks of vaping, preventative measures and community resources that are available. Click here to access.

Cap and Gown Sizes Needed for All Seniors by March 15, 2021

MCPS will be purchasing caps and gowns for all seniors this year, and students will receive them in early June.  In order to make sure we order the appropriate size for each senior, please complete the Cap and Gown Size Information Form no later than Monday, March 15.  If you already paid for a cap and gown, the money will be refunded to your credit card later this month.  All seniors, including ones who previously ordered, should complete the Cap and Gown Size Information Form. Virtual Ulysses Fair: January 2021
