Kids Ride Free - Ride On

The Kids Ride Free program provides free rides on county Ride On buses and certain Metrobus routes within Montgomery County on weekdays from 2:00–8:00 p.m. for students age 18 and under who are county residents.

The program operates year-round. Students should show their Youth Cruiser SmarTrip Card when boarding buses. School photo identification cards—used in the past—are replaced by the Youth Cruiser SmarTrip Card starting January 1, 2015. SmarTrip cards can be purchased for $2 from some schools, all Montgomery County libraries, TRiPS stores, and the Treasury Division office. The list of locations is included on the Kids Ride Free webpage at http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dot-transit/kidsridefree/index.html. Please tweet the following message to your students and include the attached image if you can. This is a great value to families.
