Dear Parents and Guardians:
This is Principal Berner with an important email from MCPS (below). I know we are approaching the end of a LONG week so I did want to check in to see how you were all doing. I hope you and the children are well---it is a significant change in our daily routines for most all of us so we are all dealing with this crisis the best we can. Many staff, along with I, have shared how much they miss your children! Please let the kids know this and that we will hopefully see them sometime soon. Please feel free to contact me with ANYTHING!
Practicing Social Distancing
Slowing the spread of COVID-19 requires everyone to follow the guidance of health officials. An important piece
of this effort is social distancing. This means avoiding gathering in groups of more than 10 and keeping a safe distance from others in the group. We have noticed some students gathering together on our fields and ignoring social distancing guidance. By doing this, they are not only putting themselves at risk but also everyone they interact with after that.
We know our students want to connect with their peers, especially in a time of crisis. Regardless of the intent, social gatherings have the potential to increase the spread of COVID-19. We ask that all members of the community follow the guidance that has been provided by the CDC and federal, state and local health officials.
Please remind your student to do their part and commit to social distancing. We are all in this together and we must all do our part.
Thank you for your continued support. At this time, our office and school has been sanitized and will be closed except for emergencies. I ask that you please email me at Debra_Berner@mcpsmd.org if you have ANY questions or concerns. The school system has been updating me daily so any updates that affect you will be shared as soon as I get them.
Take care and stay well!
Deb Berner, Principal
