Saturday School centers are at twelve sites in Montgomery County (including Kennedy) and serve over 3,000 students annually on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from October through May.
High School Plus
High School Plus enables students who have failed courses required for graduation to retake these courses for credit in their home schools. Students may also take a course for original credit if space is available. Visit the High School Plus page for more information and the current schedule.
Lunch and Learn
We provide an extended lunch period, which provides students an opportunity to receive academic assistance from their teachers. Each teacher provides a schedule of his or her availability during lunch. Students who need assistance in coordinating their lunch and learn schedule can meet with their teacher or school counselor.
National Honor Society (NHS) Tutoring
The National Honor Society offers peer tutoring requested on an individual basis. Interested students should complete the NHS Tutoring Request form. The form should be completed on a weekly basis so that reminder emails can be sent to students. NHS Tutoring will take place on Thursdays during lunch in the Media Center and Thursdays after school. For more information, please Ms. Jennifer Granados at 240-740-0100 or Jennifer_V_Granados@mcpsmd.org.
The writing center provides students assistance with writing assignments, research papers, essays, and other academic writing projects. Students can request a pass and visit the writing center during lunch or after school during CAVS-X. The writing center is located in room 222C.
