The John F. Kennedy Science department offers a variety of Physical and Life Science courses. The courses range in difficulty from on level to honors and Advanced Placement that encourage higher-level reasoning, incorporate the use of technology, and involve laboratory inquiry.

The courses are designed to pique curiosity, develop problem-solving and analytical skills, and relate scientific phenomenon to the real world. Science courses are carefully aligned with the National Science Education Standards and the Maryland Science Content Standards and develop appropriate skills for the HSA.
