American Culinary Federation Recognizes 3 MCPS High School Programs

Congratulations to the students and staff of the Professional Restaurant Management (PRM) programs at Damascus HS, Edison HS, and Paint Branch HS! These programs have been recognized as "exemplary" education programs by the American Culinary Federation Accreditation Commission. Below is a highlight from the shared press release:

The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accreditation Commission (ACFEFAC) has identified the Professional Restaurant Management (PRM) program at Damascus HS (DHS), Paint Branch HS (PBHS), and the Thomas Edison HS of Technology (TEHST) as "Exemplary" meaning the programs symbolize the highest educational standards recognized by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC). The award is presented to programs that have proven full compliance with all ACFEFAC accreditation requirements in the last visiting team report along with excellent management of the program.

The three PRM program instructors, Chef Brian Coffman (DHS), Chef Christopher Yep (PBHS), and Chef Sean Kerchner (TEHST) are to be commended for their hard work on the rigorous self-study completed and submitted to the ACFEF in January 2020 and the comprehensive onsite evaluation by ACFEF reviewers that took place in the three high schools in March.
