Donations of Board Games and Card Games

GSCES is collecting gently used board games and card games for indoor recess.  Help us restock for by dropping off gently used games to staff in the arrival car loop or dropping them off in the office.  We appreciate all your donations! Click for details.

Book Fair is Coming

The book fair will run October 10th-14th in the Media Center. We are also hosting evening shopping hours on Thursday, October 13th from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Media Center during Literacy Night at GSCES. We need volunteers to help set up and break down, as well as help students navigate the fair and make selections throughout the week. If you would like to volunteer, click here to signup. Questions? Pastries for Parents is October 10th

All parental figures in the lives of our Bullfrogs are invited to Pastries for Parents. On the blacktop and begin at 8:00. Bring a chair before school starts at 9:00. Holiday Giving (Programa de Asistencia para los Días de Fiesta)

If your family is in need of assistance during this holiday season, Thanksgiving and December holidays, please email our School Counselors, Kristen Barnett (Kristen_D_Barnett@mcpsmd.org)/Gail Valle (Gail_N_Valle@mcpsmd.org) or our Parent Community Coordinator (PCC), Patricia Santos (patricia_ubiera@mcpsmd.org), by OCTOBER 6, 2022, to receive necessary forms. Forms must be submitted by October 19th. (For support in Spanish, please contact Patricia Santos directly at 240-506-6536). Please note: There is only one referral permitted per family. Literacy Night - October 13th

Join us at GSCES on Thursday, October 13 at 6:30 for Literacy Night. In addition to celebrating literacy, families can shop at our Fall Book Fair. The PTA is asking for volunteers to help sell pizza and soft drinks Click for details.

Virtual Rainbow Club

The MCPS Virtual Rainbow Club is a safe and supportive place for LGBTQ+ students and allies to connect and build community. Individuals can spend time together to engage in activities like playing games, picture book-read alouds, and discussions about identity, diversity, and inclusivity. Mental Health - Virtual Events

Mental Health Awareness Week – October 10-15 Free virtual event October 10–15 to give youth and families the opportunity to hear from mental health experts. The weeklong expo will feature daily themes, dynamic speakers and informational videos, as well as two live events. Sessions will be available in multiple languages. Computers for You

Montgomery County is providing 40,000 Chromebook computers to residents who do not have a computer. Every person receiving a computer: • Must have an individual appointment to pick-up a computer; • MUST APPEAR IN PERSON and show photo ID to pick up the computer; • Must have a have a County library card number to create an appointment. • Must be a Montgomery County resident at least 7 years old. • Must be able to honestly certify you would not have access to a computer if the County did not provide you one. There is a limit of one computer per person. Click here for information.

Breakfast Program for all students

Great Seneca Creek ES has been approved for all students the opportunity to eat breakfast each morning at no charge in their classrooms. This program is funded with money from the federal School Breakfast Program and the Maryland State Department of Education. We are excited that all our students will be able to start the day ready to learn by joining their classmates for a nutritious breakfast at school each morning. Click for more details.
