GES Media Center Vision:
- Be an important part of the school and community
- Provide quality resources and instruction to students and staff
- Assist students in becoming effective users of ideas and information
- Promote lifelong reading and learning
Book Exchanges:
- Students check out books every week.
- Kindergarteners may check out 1 book every week.
- 1st and 2nd grades may check out 2 books at a time.
- 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades may check out 3 books at a time for personal reading, as well as additional books needed for research or classroom projects.

Digital Citizenship:
- All students have media lessons about being responsible online citizens in the digital age
- Students receive instruction on Media Balance, Privacy, Digital Footprint, Relationships, Cyberbullying, and News & Media Literacy.
- Lesson resources are provided by Common Sense Education and can be found at https://www.commonsense.org/education/

Media Center Aides
All fifth graders are welcome to apply to become media center aides.
Interested students should fill out the job application after they have read the guidelines listed below. Return the completed application to the media center as soon as possible. Please note that not all applicants will be selected to work in the media center.
