Summer Opportunities:

GMS Summer UP-In Person Summer School-Free

  • The Summer UP program is designed to address summer loss in reading and mathematics. The program will provide your child with experiences to improve outcomes in reading and mathematics, also giving your child hands on and/or real life experiences.
  • This is an in person program.
  • Program registration will be available Monday, May 3, 2021-Friday, June 4, 2021.
  • July 6-July 30 from 8:00-2:30 PM at Gaithersburg Middle School
  • Transportation provided by MCPS
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided

MCPS-Virtual Summer School

  • The MCPS Virtual Summer School program is designed to address summer loss in reading and mathematics.
  • Program registration will be available Monday, May 3, 2021-Friday, June 4, 2021.
  • July 6-July 30 from 8:30-12:30-online only

MONTGOMERY CAN CODE: FREE CODING CAMPS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS!

  • In partnership with Montgomery College and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, MCPS is offering FREE virtual coding camps this summer, as part of the Montgomery Can Code initiative. 
  • Students in the camps will receive a loaner iPad and learn to code with Swift, Apple’s easy-to-learn programming language and engage in a fun competition.

NEW-TEAM OF STARS Musical Theatre Camp

  • Who: Rising 6th, 7th, 8th. & 9th graders (Grades fall 2021)
  • When: July 6 – July 30 Mondays through Fridays
  • Where: Gaithersburg Middle School-2 Teachers Way 20877
  • Hours: 9:30am to 3:30pm (8:30am drop off for working parents)
  • After-Camp Care: contact Gaithersburg Youth Center located across the street from the camp. 301-258-6440
  • Tuition: Only $15/week for 4 Weeks/$60 Total (If enrolled in affordable housing including Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County, MHP*, Rockville Housing Enterprise, and/or receive FARMS.) Otherwise tuition is $200 per camper
  • PLEASE NOTE: Campers must commit to the full 4 weeks. No exceptions!
