  • Ms. Ehrenspeck would like to share a very special congratulations to our very own 8th grade orchestra student Jasmine Beekey. This past Saturday at the Montgomery County Solo and Ensemble Festival, Jasmine wowed the judge with her violin solo performance and scored the highest possible rating of superior.  She now qualifies for the State Solo Festival.  Congratulations Jasmine!
  • Thanks to Mr. Padilla, Ms. Harp and the PTA for a wonderful International Night.

Coronavirus Preparedness

  • Please follow these preventive measures:
    • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
    • Avoid touching eyes, mouth and nose with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with individuals who are sick.
    • Stay home when you are sick.
    • The CDC recommends that individuals remain home for at least 24 hours after you no longer have a fever or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medication (i.e., chills, feeling warm, flushed appearance).
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately discard the tissue in the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

After School activity bus:

  • Students who stay for an after-school activity may ride the activity bus.
  • Students who leave school grounds cannot come back to school to ride the activity bus.

So What Else Morning Program:

  • Before school program activities (Soccer, Games, Art, Cooking) Mondays-Fridays
  • Program continues until May 31 for Gaithersburg Elementary and GMS students
  • Gaithersburg Elementary Students: 7:15-8:45 AM (walked to GES by So What Else staff)
  • Gaithersburg Middle School Students: 7:15 AM-7:50 AM
  • Must be registered to participate in the program (see attachment)

8th Grade Hershey Park Trip:

  • 8th Grade students were given their permission slips for their end of year trip to Hershey Park. The cost of the trip is $77.00 
  • The permission slip and payment are due by April 3rd.  The electronic copy of the permission slip is on our school website.

Let’s Clear the Air Symposium

  • The Montgomery County campaign to prevent adolescent vaping presented by Montgomery County Public Schools and the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is committed to educating the public on the health risks of vaping, and providing resources to youth, parents, guardians, and educators to prevent adolescent use.
