Linkages to Learning

Linkages to Learning is a school-based collaboration among the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Mongomery County Public Schools and non-profit, community based service providers.

The program provides accessible services to at-risk children and their families to improve adjustment to and performance in school, home and community. Prevention and early intervention services include health, mental health, social services and educational support.

  Family and Child Therapist:

  • Family instability (homelessness, death of a loved one, separation or divorce of parents)
  • Mood disorders, such as; depression
  • Poor social skills
  • Difficulty with peer relationships
  • ADHD

  Mrs. Amalia Flores

  Family Case Manager:

  • Assistance with food, clothing, medicine
  • Assistance with housing or utilities
  • Finding a medical provider
  • Child Care
  • Translation Services
  • Transportation to school meetings or medical appointments
  • Financial assistance to avert crisis

  • Parent education and support
  • Tutoring or mentoring
  • Acculturation for families new to the country
