From Dr. Fish, Principal

Dear Flower Valley Elementary School Staff, Students, and Families,

I am honored to be serving the Flower Valley Elementary School community! Throughout my professional career, I have been a staunch advocate for children and their educational needs. I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher for 18 years, a past member and president of the Frederick County Board of Education, an administrator for 8 years, and, most recently, as the very proud principal of Flower Valley Elementary School.

My vision for leadership is focused on meeting the needs of every single child that walks through our doors. I believe in providing all students with the access and opportunities to pursue their passions and achieve success while breaking down any barriers in their way. I am dedicated to this work and understand how critical it is to work together as a community to ensure our vision for our students comes to fruition. I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence that exists at Flower Valley Elementary School by providing enriching opportunities and a rigorous, engaging academic experience for all students, while also fostering a sense of community and family where all are welcome and encouraged to pursue their passions and take care of one another.

I look forward to continuing the great work that is happening at Flower Valley Elementary School. Our Flower Valley Fireflies truly "light the way" in all that they do.

Sincerely,
Dr. Angie L. Fish

From Kimberly Haden, Vice Principal

Dear Flower Valley Elementary School Staff, Students, and Families,

I am delighted to have the opportunity to introduce myself to the wonderful Flower Valley Elementary School community. My name is Kim Haden, and I am thrilled to be joining this community of learners as a dedicated educator in my 23rd year in MCPS.

This part of Montgomery County holds a special place in my heart, as I grew up in the Aspen Hill area and had the privilege of attending elementary school just down the road at Rock Creek Valley. The memories and experiences as a student greatly influenced my educational journey, motivating me to pursue a career in teaching.

My educational background is anchored in a passion for both the arts and pedagogy. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Art Education from the University of Maryland, where I honed my skills and developed a deep appreciation for creative expression in learning. Subsequently, I pursued a Master's degree in Elementary Education, further solidifying my commitment to fostering well-rounded and holistic development in young learners. My dedication to enhancing educational practices led me to Towson University, where I earned a certificate in Arts Integration and later a certificate in Administration and Supervision.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I live with my husband and two children in Clarksburg. As an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing and inclusive learning space where each child's unique potential is recognized and cultivated. My family is originally from Tennessee, where I spent each summer as a child and I love sharing my experiences with my two boys as we visit with family.

I am truly eager to collaborate with the talented educators, parents, and students that make up the Flower Valley Elementary School community. Together, we can continue to uphold the school's tradition of excellence while exploring innovative approaches to teaching and learning. I am committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that empowers students to become curious, confident, and compassionate individuals. Together, we will “Light the Way” to success for each of our Flower Valley Fireflies!

Sincerely,

Kimberly Haden
