S-A-T WORD OF THE DAY:
The French Honor Society will hold its first French Conversation Club meeting this Friday, November 2 in Room 28 during the first half of lunch. Students with all levels of French are welcome, from novice through native speakers, whether you are taking a French class or not.
Also, beginning next week, FHS members will provide peer-tutoring for currently enrolled French students on Mondays during all of lunch in Room 28.
ATTENTION SOFTBALL PLAYERS! There will be a meeting for all students interested in playing softball on Thursday, November 8 during the first half of lunch in Room 154. Please see Coach Nappo with questions.
For the first marking period, the math department will have rewards for students who earn an A, B, or C on the Progress Checks. We will hold a raffle, similar to what we did last year for various shops in the area. 15 winners will be drawn. Students get 3 tickets entered for an "A" on the Progress Check. 2 tickets for a "B" and 1 tickets entered for a "C".
Prizes include a $10 Gift card to : Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, McDonald's or Chipotle. The date for the drawing will be Monday November 12th and will be shared on Tuesday November 13th on Titan TV. In addition, every student who obtains a C or higher will be able to stop by the math office on Monday November 12th for a small treat.
Attention Einstein students,
Are you interested in expanding your math horizons? Come out to join the Einstein Mathletes. We meet once per week in Room 204 at lunch every Tuesday in order to prepare for math competitions against other MCPS schools.
We have already had one match, but it is not too late to join. See Mr. Bangura in Room 204 for more details.
Hey, Titans! Ready to get your learning permit?
AEHS is offering our first of three opportunities of the year to take the written portion of the test after school on Thursday, November 15th at 3:00pm. You must be at least 15 years and 9 months old on the day of the test to be eligible. The test can be given in English or Spanish.
There is no cost to take the written portion of the test and you will know THAT DAY if you passed the test.
Pick up a Driver's Manual and permission slip from Ms. King in room 113 on Main Street.
There are only 60 spots available to take the test - don't delay in picking up your permission slip! Permission slips are due no later than November 7th, but the sooner, the better!
The calendar has turned to November and that can mean only one thing - the next great Einstein STAGE production is on the way - the wonderful dark comedy ARSENIC AND OLD LACE. Abby and Martha only SEEM to be sweet little old ladies - but they're hiding a murderous secret that involves poisoned wine, little old men a trio of wacky nephews and more than one dead body to hide! You are invited to attend the Fall College Fair on Thursday, November 8th at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, Gaithersburg, Maryland between 10:00 am - 1:00pm., Periods 3, 4 and 5. Free transportation and admission to all students Over 40 Colleges will be attending the College Fair. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet college reps and have your questions answered.
